Hi all! I am 4 weeks post op from my distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy. I’ve been recovering well, eating very mild foods with limited fat. Recently I’ve also reduced carbs and sugar because my blood sugar is in the prediabetic range since the surgery. My digestion started go get back on track about a week ago. On Christmas however, I ate more food than usual, and a lot of it was cooked in butter, grease, etc. Today my stomach is super upset and my digestion is horrible. Also having reflux and indigestion. I’m just wondering, over time does that get better? I generally don’t eat fatty, greasy food anyway. But I’m just curious if I’ll have to worry about this in the long run, when going out to eat at a restaurant, for example. Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry no one replied to your questions.    I had same surgery 2 yrs ago.   And yes...i hate to say i still have to avoid rich foods and/or take my enzymes.   I was eating badly at the beginning of this quarantine (boredom) and had a horrible bout a few weeks ago.  I recalled i had eaten  buttery popcorn and some rich meals.   I am now getting back to low fat and slowly feeling better.    Do you have enzymes?  I really can't say they help but they don't hurt.   Also i take 2 gas X when this pain starts as i have found that gas is a big culprit.   Good luck!!
