My 79 year old Dad was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer in December 2019.  He just finished his 2nd round of modified FolFirinox. They added Irinotecan in this go round.  Goal is to shrink and remove (whipple).  My quesiton is has anyone else experienced emotional side effects from the Folfirinox infusion?  This is our family's 1st go round with cancer and chemo and we just don't know what is normal and when to worry.  Bad dreams and not thinking straight are not listed as 'normal' side effects. I have contacted the doctor.  Any suggestions or experience with this.  Thanks to everyone for taking the time to answer.  My Dad is really struggling.  My prayers are with all of those fighting and the caregivers supporting them.

I am so sorry your dear Dad is going thru this.   Bad dreams are not uncommon for me...and they whole sitution of having this cancer and going thru chemo IS very emotional.   Strong support, which im sure he has from you, is vital.   Definitely talk to his Dr.   I was on an anti depressent and had it increased when i was diagnosed.   It has REALLY helped me...I have been pretty stable emotionally.  "Not thinking straight" can be common too....I've heard it called "chemo fog".   Also take into consideration his age.   Everything is harder to overcome when one is older.   I know this from my 83 yo dad.  Best of luck to you and you Dad.
