Nausea

I was fortunate to have had Whipple in September 2018. I was 78 then but very active, vibrant woman. First let me say I am very medication sensitive. I maintained a positive attitude throughout this journal and continued exercise. I was diagnosed with execrine pancreatic insufficiency, don’t produce enough enzymes. Tried zenpep but got nauseous from it. It is now two years from when I was diagnosed and of course had nausea then, for two years doctors blamed nausea on surgery, then chemo then radiation which all ended last June but nausea continues. My blood work and cancer markers are great so GI is baffled, he sent me back to primary, baffled, and had me do mri of head, normal so now I am back to GI. Am on almost no meds so can’t blame them. Am trying acupuncture and pray it works. I am so depressed over this. Has anyone had this same problem. I know Whipple saved our lives but there is no question that we’ll never be the same. I just want nausea to stop. I am self diagnosing I,e, maybe it’s after effects of gallbladder removal. Can anyone share with me. Meds I am now on are low dose amlodipine for blood pressure and omeprazole which I stopped for 3 weeks ( thinking maybe that was issue) but it wasn’t. HELP!

I take zofran which is supposed to be the best but it really doesnt help. Later in the day last week I took composing and it knocked me out. My big concern is, what is causing nausea. Have had three acupuncture sessions and so far it hasn’t help. Will try it a few more times. So frustrated. Thank you for your reply

Yes you are right ,what is causing the nausea,at least the MRI didn’t show something bad,it would be very frustrating for you, sounds like something occurred because of your Whipple, unfortunately things like this can happen after surgery,I know you will keep pushing for a solution.Good luck

Well had two more acupuncture treatments this week and haven’t had nausea since last Saturday. You have no idea how happy I am. Maybe your wife should try it. This chiropractor also does acupuncture and he only charged $30 which was great. Let’s hope I stay this way.
