I am 32 years old and have recently had a protein electrophoresis done as part of a work up for consistently low potassium levels. It came back with elevation beta and immunofixation was done which showed elevated iga kappa light chain with M spike to small to measure. Reading about all of this has really made me nervous. Does anyone have a similar story. Have done nothing else further as of right now and am waiting to see a nephrologist next week.

Kathleen - I am 45 years old, diagnosed with MGUS w/kappa light chains 11 times greater than normal.  I am concerned about light chain deposition disease and wondering how your trip to the nephrologist went.

thanks! Gee
