I am wondering how many people are alive for years after their Whipple Procedure.  I'm 10 years out.

What mg of Hyoscyamine are you taking?  Is it the ER (extended release)? I was using the sub-linguals, however things have gotten worse, and was prescribed 0.375md ER Tabs 1 every 12 hr. Unfortunately, after the second one, I developed a bad flushing of the face with a raised rash, indicating possible allergy. I had to stop it. Need to know as my next move is to see the gastro and try to get another CAT scan ...

greenribby, I was so pleased to read your message. What a blessing to not have to go though all the chemo, etc. I was fortunate too, as mine was a large tumor covering 60% of my Pancreas, sitting nice and pretty on the top. Before surgery, the outcome was grim; however my tumor was completely encapsulated in a little coocoon of it's own and nothing leaked out. They did the Whipple and removed 18 of the lymph nodes; ...

You just gave me hope with what you wrote to Meah. I'm hoping when I start the Creon that my issues will improve!

I'm wondering how much Creon is being taken for those who have had their Pancreas removed on almost totally removed, or for those whose Pancreas do not function. My doctor decided to let me give it a try and it is 36,000 units. I'm to take ONE with each meal. Snacks are not mentioned. Thanks so much! Nan

I'm 65, wife, and Mother of 3 girls, and Nana to 7 grandkids. I enjoy singing, and do a lot of it on a Karaoke site called Sing Snap.A great place to sing and meet new friends. I love to do crosswords, read, cook when I can, spend time with my husband, and our two dogs. I also like to play online games, not the kind that a Granny would play; but the shoot em up kill em games. Go figure. Oh, don't worry. After we get killed, we come right back to life. LOL I enjoy making people smile, which I do a lot on the Karaoke site, wearing wigs and doing silly and serious songs. I live in Maryland in the good ole USA. I've had health problems all my life, but try to make the best of things, especially with humor. I just love to make people laugh! :)
